Field Trips and Groups – Universities and Colleges
Our bespoke trips are designed to suit the individual requirements of the institution but the following itinerary outlines a ‘normal’ 10-day stay with us. We have found that a trip of this duration is preferable so as to be able to fully-immerse the students in the natural environment for a suitable period of time. We offer a holistic wilderness adventure, with environmental education, conservation research and the wilderness experience being at the core.
Students are divided into smaller groups of 6 – 10 per group and rotate through the various camps so as to create a well-rounded experience. The experience is lessened considerably in groups that are too large. Thus said, ample time is spent together when rotating through the camps and at meal times.
In order for a group to be accepted from a college/university, the following criteria need to be met:
- A minimum of 6 students and a maximum of 50 students can be hosted per field trip.
- Students need to be pre-allocated into sub-groups comprising a minimum of 6 students and a maximum of 10 students per group.
- Students need to be at least 16 years of age.
- If all students from the school are not of the same gender then a minimum of 2 students per group need to be of the same gender (for accommodation purposes).
